Prof Matthias Frosch, MD
Medical Faculty, JMU, Würzburg, Germany

Prof Frosch is Dean of the Medical Faculty at the Julius Maximilians University Würzburg (JMU). He holds the Chair for Hygiene and Microbiology and was Head of the Institute for Hygiene and Microbiology until 2020. Prof Frosch is currently the President of the Medizinischer Fakultätentag (the German Medical Faculty Association).

Prof Stephen Mshana, MD, PhD

Dept. of Microbiology and Immunology, CUHAS, Mwanza, Tanzania

Prof. Mshana is Chair for Clinical Microbiology at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences (CUHAS) and the Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) in Mwanza. He holds a PhD in Medical Microbiology (St. Augustine University, Tanzania in collaboration with the University of Giessen, Germany). Since 2014 he has been Deputy Vice Chancellor - Academics, Research and Consultancy at CUHAS. He is also a member of the National Antimicrobial Resistance Multi-Sectoral Coordinating Committee.

Prof Oliver Kurzai, MD

Medical Faculty, JMU, Würzburg, Germany

Prof Kurzai is Chair for Medical Microbiology and Mycology at the Julius Maximilians University Würzburg (JMU) and Head of the Institute for Hygiene and Microbiology of JMU. He holds an MD with specialist recognition for microbiology, virology and infection epidemiology. Prof Kurzai is the vice speaker of the executive board of the Center for Infectious Diseases Research in Würzburg.

Dr Fabian Masaga, MD

Director General Bugando Medical Centre, Mwanza,Tanzania

Dr Massaga is the acting Director General of the Bugando Medical Centre in Mwanza. He holds an Master of Medicine in general surgery from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS).  Prior to that he was a Director of Surgical services at Bugando Medical Centre.

Prof Paschalis Rugarabamu, MBA, DDS, MDent

CUHAS, Mwanza, Tanzania

Prof. Rugarabamu is the Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS) since 2014. He is a member of the Bugando Medical Center Board of Directors. Prof. Rugarabamu trained as a Doctor of Dentistry (University of Dar es Salaam). He also holds an MBA from Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute.

Prof Humphrey Mazigo, M.Sc, PhD

Dept. of Parasitology and Entomology, CUHAS, Mwanza, Tanzania

Prof. Mazigo is the Dean of School of Public Health and Head of the Department of Parasitology and Entomology of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences (CUHAS) in Mwanza. He holds a PhD in Public Health from Makerere University. His main research areas include epidemiology and the control of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) with a special focus on prevention, control and potential elimination of helminthic NTDs. He is a Fellow of the African Science Leadership Programme and Fellow of the Medical Education Partnership.

Prof Domenica Morona, M.Sc, PhD

Dept. of Parasitology and Entomology, CUHAS, Mwanza, Tanzania

Prof. Morona is Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer of Parasitology and Entomology since 2011. She is also Director of Research and Innovations, and Ag. Dean of the School of Public Health at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences (CUHAS). Prof. Morona holds a PhD in Parasitology from the University of Neuchatel (Switzerland) and a Master of Community Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Her research focuses on schistosomiasis epidemiology and control.

Dr Christa Kasang, PhD
DAHW, Würzburg, Germany

Dr. Kasang is a Senior Research Coordinator at the German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association (DAHW). Since 2013 she has been Head of the Research Department of DAHW. As research coordinator and technical advisor, she is developing and coordinating (research) projects, and supervising students and clinical and community based health activities in DAHW supported countries. Dr. Kasang holds of PhD degree in Virology and Immunobiology of the JMU Würzburg, Germany.

Dr Andreas Müller, MD
Klinikum Würzburg Mitte, Würzburg, Germany

Dr. Müller is a Senior Consultant Physician at the Tropical Medicine Department of the Klinikum Würzburg Mitte. He holds a diploma in Tropical Medicine (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine) and specialist recognitions in Intensive Care Medicine and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Müller has strong expertise in the field of neglected tropical diseases (NDTs). He is also working voluntarily as a consultant for the Medical Mission Institute, Würzburg, where he is coordinating the Schistosomiasis working group. with a special focus on schistosomiasis.

Shamez Sunderji, M.Sc
DAHW, Dar es salaam, Tanzania

Since 2021, Shamez Sunderji is the Head of Program for the German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association (DAHW) in Tanzania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology from York University, Canada and a Master in Business Entrepreneurship from Lund University, Sweden. Shamez Sunderji has extensive experience in consulting, project controlling and hospital management.

Dr Saskia Kreibich, M.Sc, PhD
DAHW, Würzburg, Germany

Dr. Kreibich is Global Health Advisor and Deputy Head of the Medical and Social Projects Department of the German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association (DAHW), where she is responsible for the health care management, project monitoring and quality assurance of DAHW supported projects. Since 2019 she has been the East-Africa Regional Team Leader of DAHW. Dr. Kreibich holds a Master Degree in International Health of the SwissTPH, Switzerland and a PhD degree in Microbiology and Immunology of the ETH Zürich.
